NTSB B-Roll – Aerial Imagery of Francis Scott Key Bridge and Cargo Ship Dali

One reason why huge container ships like Dali are so economical to operate is that they are powered by a single, massive engine. Lose that engine and the ship loses the ability to navigate. New bridges are expensive. Perhaps it is time to mandate that similar ships must be escorted by two tugs when passing under vulnerable infrastructure. This footage shows the Port hook (anchor) was dropped, but at 8 knots, it would be like trying to stop your car with your foot on the freeway. Blessings to the families of the lost.
